The E.I.T. marae complex is a teaching facility for Maori language and culture courses. The complex includes a whare wananga, kitchen complex for large or small functions, dining room, computer suite, research facility, and language laboratory. The Whare Matoro can seat up to 300 people and is used for hui, conferences, lectures, competitions and prize-givings. Liaison staff work with Maori and Pacifika organisations, Iwi, schools and communities, hapu and whanau, to advise on study options. All students are assisted with their academic challenges, pastoral care, and also their social, spiritual and emotional support and well-being.
